Book Donation Contest

This is not so much a contest as an opportunity to put books in the hands of teens who need them and receive a free book for your efforts.

The first 10 people or groups to donate 10 or more books to one of the organizations listed below or to the juvenile detention center of your choice will received a free, signed copy of NOT LIKE YOU.

If you are a teacher or parent or work with groups of teens in another capacity, why not consider doing a book drive with your kids, class, or group? It's a great way to build compassion among teens toward other kids who have fewer resources and opportunities. If you are a teen looking to fulfill community service requirements, why not organize a book drive yourself?

To receive your free copy of NOT LIKE YOU, send me a list of the titles you donated and contact information for your contact at the organization to which you sent books.

The Nidorf Juvenile Detention Center in Sylmar has a "Beyond Four Walls Wish List". View it now.

Alameda County Juvenile Hall also has a wish list. View it now.

Seattleites, there's a place to donate in your town. Visit their site now.

If you live outside California and Washington and want to donate closer to your home, try a Google search using "book donation" plus the name of your city or town, or contact the juvenile detention center closest to you and ask who there can accept donations of (paperback) books.

I look forward to hearing from you!
